Programmes for students and new graduates
Webuild believes in newly trained talents and designs its future by investing in their present.
This is why we look for talented students and new graduates with excellent studies, good English knowledge and the willingness to tackle new challenges.
Our work is construction. This is why we mostly prefer students and new graduates with a technical, scientific background from Italian and international schools and universities: they must be courageous and passionate, available for international mobility, committed to learning, growing and developing their own skills, and result and teamwork-oriented.
The most desirable degrees include: Civil Engineering, Mechanics, Environmental Studies, Management and Economics.
The most desirable high school diplomas include: surveyor, accountant, industrial technician.
We have identified a course for helping young talent grow and develop, which begins in the on-boarding phase and is divided into different, varied courses designed to favour the organisational and professional learning process for new recruits.
These include the Build Up programme launched in 2015 as an interdepartmental, on-the-job training programme, the specialist Master’s Degree in “International Construction Management” and projects of internal knowledge sharing via the company E-learning Academy. Professional tutoring activities are carried out mainly via work experience projects for students, newly qualified and newly graduated students not only in the Engineering field, but also in the Economics one.
What’s the best thing that a company can do today? Invest in the future, nurture the next generation, invest in universities and, most of all, do it together. This is the new model to adopt to contribute to making Italy ever more competitive in the world.
Programs and initiatives for students and recent graduates
Over the years we have consolidated and strengthened initiatives and programs entirely dedicated to the training of young talents. These include the specialized Master in "International Construction Management" - now in its third edition and born from a partnership of excellence with the Politecnico di Milano - together with internal knowledge sharing projects through the company E-learning Academy. Professional tutoring activities are carried out mainly through internship projects for students, recent graduates and recent graduates not only in the engineering field but also in the economic field.
In 2021 Webuild confirmed and consolidated strategic relations with Italian and international universities for new training programs entirely dedicated to young students and recent graduates. With the University of Genoa we have conceived and launched UniWeLab, a research laboratory powered by a team of young undergraduates and graduates and active in the development of innovative ideas to promote sustainable mobility for the city of Genoa.
In November 2021, the first edition of the was launched, a program dedicated to young graduates and recent undergraduates and Italian universities to promote innovation and research in infrastructures. The Award is aimed at supporting the professional growth of newly trained young people with the assignment of 8 International Internship Programs for students with the best master's degree theses on innovation and digitalization of infrastructures and the financing of a three-year doctoral scholarship for universities. On the occasion of the award ceremony of the first edition, the 2022-2023 edition of the Prize was launched on 13 June 2022.
Also in 2021, Webuild sided with the National Council of Engineers in favor of the enhancement of women in the technical field, appearing among the sponsors of Ingenio al femminile, the prize awarded to the best degree theses in Engineering that in the academic year 2019-2020 have brilliantly developed the theme "Sustainability in all sectors of Engineering for the achievement of the Objectives of the 2030 Agenda".
Adopt a School Project
Our commitment towards new generations as a cornerstone of our Group's values, also establishes itself through the initiatives that we carry out for students of secondary schools.
Sharing our know-how, letting people know about the large infrastructure sector, while helping them also develop the skills required by employers, are for Webuild an occasion to contribute to the professional orientation and personal growth of the young during this phase of their journey.
With the aim of opening and consolidating a dialogue between schooling institutions and the work arena, also creating opportunities and developing skills, we create in 2023 a project called "Adotta una Scuola" (Adopt a School), in collaboration with Skilla, with whom Webuild already partnered for its digital training activities.
The initiative aims at bringing the corporate training culture within Italian schools, through the eLearning method. It allowed us to make a digital catalogue aimed at developing the skills of our internal resources also available to the students, teachers and school managers of the Istituto Tecnico CAT (Costruzioni Ambienti e Territorio) Carlo Bazzi of Milan. The provided material is also available in our Webuild training Library, which can be accessed on the company's E-Learnng portal.
The “Adopt a School” project is part of the activities promoted by our Group that aim at favouring the employment of young talent through initiatives like the "Next-Gen" one that, through collaborations and partnerships with schools and universities, promotes the development of professional training paths.
